The NJP Blogs

In this section, we present an ever-growing collection of brief articles, essays, poetry, news, recipes, and more—all contributed by our members.

These blogs represent each individual writer's viewpoint. Please keep that in mind as you read and comment. Feel free to disagree, but be respectful of differences.

Note to members: You can start your own blog here, in the "Window Into My World" section. (Please don't start new blogs in any of the other categories.) Instead of or in addition to your own blog, you can also contribute to almost all of the blogs listed below as a guest blogger.

Before starting your own blog, or if you're interested in being a guest blogger in one or more of the categories listed below, please contact Yael for guidelines. It's easy to get started. This section needs YOU!

10 Ways You Know You Have a Toddler

posted by Devorah Reiss, Aishes ChayilTuesday, May 1st 2012 @ 5:56 AM

1. When "crunchy" parenting refers to the sound your feet make when you put on your Cheerios-laden shoes.

2. Play time includes getting CPR from a midget (or a toddler who enjoys bouncing up and down on your chest).

3. Lunchtime feels more like a game of dodgeball than anything else.

4. Going to the bathroom without an audience is a thing of the past.

5. Your phone bill goes up with the amount your toddler talks to imaginary people.

6. You also think that laying on the carpet counting your fingers and toes is way more fun than doing laundry.

7. What do you mean I can't run around the house without a diaper on?  It's so much better that way.

8. When you accept offers of dirt and weeds with a big smile and excitement.

9. You and your child are equally excited when you discover the treasure trove of toys hidden under the fridge.

10. In the middle of the day, for no reason at all, your toddler comes running up to you and smothers you with kisses before bouncing away to destroy that new roll of paper towels.
