How we can make this a real community

When I started Natural Jewish Parenting magazine years ago, I was trying to fill a need in the Jewish world. Parents needed a place to explore their (sometimes "alternative") ideas about child-raising and family health in a Jewish context, and also to network with other parents who might share some of those ideas and challenge them with different ones.
The print NJP fulfilled that need for many people and a community began to take shape. Future print issues will build on that history and grow and change to meet the needs of today.
But for a real, live, tangible feeling of community among people spread far and wide, these days nothing compares to the potential of the internet. At its best, the internet bridges distances (geographical and otherwise) and helps people forge real relationships.
And that is why Natural Jewish Parenting magazine has evolved into the Natural Jewish Parenting Community.
This site can bring us all together—as real people who have wisdom to offer, questions to ask, and talent to share. (Remember that the member-only areas of this site are not readable or searchable by anyone who has not been approved by me personally.)
I am about to add lots of new content to the site—something new (or several new things) every day, G-d willing! New articles from new writers! New recipes, new reviews, even new videos.
But this site is not about me. This site is for you, about you, and by you... all of you, the members of this community.
Do you have favorite healthy recipes? A parenting experience or opinion to share? A book, CD, or product you would like to review? A video that would help or entertain other members?
All of those things, and more, are how this "blank canvas" will become a living and breathing community. I'm so excited about the possibilities! Please be a part of it!

P.S. I hope to have a page up soon with specific guidelines on how to contribute to this site in various ways. Meanwhile, you can just click on the "contact us" link at the top of any page and tell me what you are interested in submitting.
